McDonald’s Just Added Sriracha To Its Menu To Fulfill Your Foodie Dreams

As a loyal Shake Shack customer, I only go into a fast food place like McDonald’s if I need to use the bathroom. What? We’ve all done it.

But I might have a new reason to actually buy something at the fast food chain.

McDonald’s has added Signature Sriracha sauce to its Signature Crafted sandwich menu. The new sauce is a combo of Big Mac sauce and classic Sriracha, and it sounds amazing.

If you haven’t tried Sriracha and you love spicy food, go get some right now.Sriracha is a hot chili sauce that’s basically spicy ketchup. It’s been around in the US since the ’8 0s but only gained popularity among hipsters a few years ago.

Personally, I love it and want to cover everything I eat with it. I’m not a hipster, I simply have great taste.

The sandwich with the new sauce, which is only available at some McDonald’s places in California for now, includes the Sriracha Big Mac sauce, crispy onions, a slice of tomato, newborn spinach, newborn kale and white cheddar with your choice of beef patty, fried chicken or grilled chicken. Damn. That actually sounds really good.

Besides offering the Signature Sriracha sauce option, McDonald’s is upping its foodie game with more additional menu items to put on sandwiches, like Pico Guacamole and Maple Bacon Dijon. Yum.

Of course, there’sgrowing concernover McDonald’s making the spicy sauce loved by hipsters officially mainstream, but I call BS. Food is food.

Look, McDonald’s isn’t the first huge fast food chain to incorporate Sriracha into its menu. Taco Bell and Jack In The Box both did it already. Soon enough, we’ll likely ensure Burger King and Wendy’s follow suit. Why? Because Sriracha is astonishing. Let’s embrace the cultural appropriation and enjoy a Sriracha sandwich from McDonald’s, shall we?

People are worried about the sanctity of Sriracha.

I mean, the sandwich with the new sauce looks pretty good to me.

McDonald’s isn’t ruining Sriracha, people. It’s a condiment.

If you live in Seattle, the McDonald’s Signature Sriracha will be posted on July 7. When I travel to Seattle afterwards this year, I’ll likely definitely be stopping at McDonald’s if it hasn’t stimulated its style over to New Yorkby then.
