Evan Rachel Wood has some pretty golden advice for getting ready for the red carpet: “Just be yourself, because your worth is more than that.”
The Westworld actress opted to wear a sharp suit on the Golden Globes red carpet to remind people there’s no right style to be a woman.
“I love attires; I’m not trying to protest attires, ” she told Ryan Seacrest. “But I wanted to make sure young girls and attires knew that they aren’t a requirement, and you don’t have to wear one if you don’t want to.”
Woods quotes the gender-bending appears of Marlene Dietrich, Julie Andrews in Victor, Victoria and David Bowie as her inspiration for the appear. She frequently rocks pantsuits on the red carpet, including the Critic Choice Award last month, where she picked up an award for Best Actress in a Drama Series.
Tonight, she’s up for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama for her work on Westworld .
